Press and hold R like you're going to throw your weapon, and then without letting go, press and hold up on the D pad to scroll though your items, then when you let go of up, the item you had selected will now be in Link's hand to throw (you're still holding down R throughout this).Nintendo made TotK so well, the story wasn’t as enchanting as BotW, but still really good, and with the gameplay literally just being everything about the original.
